What is the Ozil AI goal?
"Ozil AI goal" is what people call the AI clips that put someone new in Mesut Özil's place for one of his most famous goals. You add one photo and get a vertical clip of you running at the camera, chipping the keeper, letting two defenders slide past and shooting.
This template does exactly that, with no prompt and no editing. The video follows a depth map of the trend clip, so the moves, the ball and the pitch-level camera match it; your face, hair and outfit come from your photo, and the stadium is generated around you. Every version makes the whole 15-second clip.
On TikTok
The same chip, different players
After the night-pitch clip, people put their own faces and characters on the same run, chip and finish.
What the template recreates
The whole solo goal in 15 seconds, with the camera at grass level the whole way.
- 0–1.5 s
Run at the lens
Dribbling straight at the camera, the ball close to the feet and arms out for balance.
- 1.5–5 s
The chip
The keeper flies in, the ball is flicked over his head, then chested down on the run.
- 5–10.5 s
Two slide tackles
One defender slides in, then another; each time the ball is pulled away and they go sliding past.
- 10.5–15 s
The finish
Clear at last: a run at goal and the shot, as the camera swings round to the net.
Where the Ozil AI goal trend came from
It started on TikTok on October 9, 2026, when a Brazilian account posted an AI clip of a Minecraft villager scoring Özil's famous goal in slow motion, set to a French song. It passed 3.8 million views within days.
From October 10, CapCut templates and "how to make the Ozil AI video" tutorials spread in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic, and people started putting themselves, their friends and their favourite characters in the scorer's place. You'll also see it called the "Ozil bounce" or the "Ozil goal template".
The real goal: Özil at Ludogorets, 2016
The move comes from Mesut Özil's late winner for Arsenal away at Ludogorets in the Champions League group stage on November 1, 2016, a 3–2 win after Arsenal had fallen 2–0 behind.
Through on goal, Özil lifted the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper, waited for it to drop, let two defenders slide past him and rolled it into the empty net. It's still replayed as one of the coolest finishes of his career, which is why the AI version caught on.

One person, face clearly visible. A full-body or waist-up photo works better than a close selfie.

Get a better result from the first upload
One person, face sharp and forward
Crop group shots to the person you mean, since two faces can blend. Front or three-quarter views with visible eyes work best.
Bright, even light
A well-lit photo keeps your skin tone and features steady through the fast moves and the floodlights.
Show your body, not just your face
A full-body or waist-up photo gives the model your build for the run, the chest control and the shot.
Your outfit is your kit
You play in what you wear in the photo. Sportswear looks the part, but a hoodie and jeans work too; football boots are added.
Nothing covering the face
No sunglasses, masks, hats pulled low or hands over the face — anything hidden in the photo can't be recreated.
Use photos you're allowed to use
Photos of yourself, or friends who agreed to it. Photos of footballers, politicians, celebrities or other public figures won't pass review.
